But anyone who wants to cheat will definitely do it, not minding whether or not their spouse is gold-plated.

There are always signs of an impending affair, no matter how subtle they may be.
Sometimes, people are either just oblivious of it or are living in complete denial till it happens.

1. He distances himself from you
One of the signs your husband is considering having an affair is that he creates a physical and emotional distance from you.
For lack of better words, I’ll say that it’s more like he detaches himself from your usual routine together as a couple.
It’s not out of place for you to know your husband’s schedule – where he goes, who he meets with, who he’s with, and other such intricate details.
But lately, you find him distancing himself from you both physically and emotionally.
He no longer wants to sit with you and talk about anything and everything.
Also, he no longer fills you in on his daily schedule.
Even when you ask him directly, he gives you sketchy details.
You’re gradually becoming a stranger in his life and that’s exactly what he wants.
That way, he’s free to do whatever he likes without you knowing his whereabouts
And it’s because he is now using a routine that’s entirely different from what you’re familiar with.
2. He has a history of cheating
Like I pointed out in the introduction, there’s a saying that, ‘once a cheat, always a cheat.’
Anyone who has a history of cheating in the past will likely consider having an affair in the future.
He has gone down that road before either as a single or married man.
So, he knows inappropriate ways to de-stress and take his mind off certain things.
It’ll be like a suppressed addiction that’s calling out to him and trying to pull him back in.
Whenever he needs to cool off, it’ll take a lot for him to not start having an affair as an escape.
3. He has low self-esteem
Although this sign can be dicey, but it’s very much valid in the grand scheme of things.
A man who has a low sense of self is very likely to have an affair.
People who have low self-esteem generally seek approval and validation from others, especially strangers who do not really know them.
Don’t get me wrong.
His wife might be doing everything right and even trying to boost his self-esteem.
But he’ll see it that she’s trying to fulfill all righteousness and just make him feel happy.
He might not necessarily value her contribution to boosting his self-esteem because he feels like she’s stuck with him and has no other choice than to do it.
However, he’ll be bent on getting validation and feeling good about himself from outsiders.
The moment he gets someone (preferably a lady) who massages his ego, he might get swept off his feet and carried away by the accolades and encomiums.
Consequently, he’ll likely consider having an affair.

Dare I say that cheating is a communicable disease that can be contacted by frequent close interactions with cheats.

I mentioned earlier that it takes combined efforts from both parties in a marriage to spice things up and make it work.

As a result, their marriage and other relationships take the backseat till they’ve achieved their goal.
This might be what’s happening in the marriage and that’s making the husband to get bored.
He’s beginning to think that the grass is greener on the other side.
With that mindset, he might be considering having an affair because he thinks that the excitement and giddy feeling he’s getting outside is the real deal.
Asides talking about the boredom and its causes, it’ll help if the couple talked about practical ways to get rid of the boredom in their marriage.
In addition, they need to consciously work together towards reviving the spark and spice in the union.
6. He doesn’t let his gadgets out of his sight

It’s especially true if it’s just the two of you in the house and he still guards his gadgets with jealousy.
I mean, if you both can be open to each other with your intimate parts, having access to each other’s gadgets shouldn’t be a problem.
However, this man is always policing his gadgets as if they’re a sacred part of himself that shouldn’t be accessed by anyone else.
He definitely has something to hide with that attitude.
7. He has loyalty issues
One of the signs your husband is considering having an affair is that he has loyalty issues.
He usually takes the sides of other people and believes their stories over yours in different situations.
It simply means that he doesn’t love you enough and is not loyal to you.
Although it’s not a surefire sign that he’s considering having an affair, but with this type of attitude towards you, he won’t mind giving it a try if it ever crosses his mind.
As a woman, it’s important to be familiar with these signs and address them whenever you see them in your marriage.
